Bryn needs to come up with a way to earn some extra cash, and fast. With her mortgage due and her martial arts studio in jeopardy, it seems life can't get any tougher. That is, until she is run over by a station wagon in front of her neighborhood grocer!

For hunky EMT, Aiden Romero, Bryn may just be the distraction he has been looking for to get him through his last year of grad school. Can the two become roommates, solving both their problems, or will their encounter spell heartache for Bryn?

This contemporary romance is a 29,000 word novella set in Southwest Ohio and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

This story was very short. I was able to read it in one sitting and I enjoyed it. Book was cute, funny and entertaining. Romance was hot, considering it was a short read. This is the story of Bryn, who is a very independent woman, has lived a rough life and is finally out on her own. She inherited her great aunt's house and she operates a karate studio in a low income area, to help underpriviledged youth. Many times, her students were poor so they didn't pay her too much. With her bills mounting, she is beginning to worry about them and has to find a roommate to make some extra money. One day, on her way to work, she gets hit by a car. On her way to the hospital, Aiden, an EMT and Adonis was helping her. In the midst of her confusion, she asks Aiden to move in with her. He thought it was cute, but at the same time, he saw it as an opportunity to see her again. He was immediately attracted to her. He has never felt that way about any woman before and he wanted to explore those feelings.

Both characters have interesting family dynamics. Bryn's mother was something else. Aiden's family were extremely close and are always pressuring him into getting married and moving back home to Argentina. Turns out that Bryn accepts Aiden's offer for roommate, since he was paying her twice what she would normally get. Soon, as they start living together and spending time together, they find out they work well together. As circumstances would have them, they begin a white lie about being a couple and this lie spirals completely out of control. Aiden is sure that Bryn is the woman for him and sets out to convince Bryn.

Story was cute. Romance was steamy, considering it was a short story. Nice little read on a lazy afternoon.

Nice story, but could have been much, much better.

I wonder why all heroes are wealthier than Bill Gates and nicer than a saint. I would love to see a real man as a hero.
Easy and a fast read -- that's what I was looking for while sitting by the pool. Cinderella meets Prince Charming - it's a cute story and pretty much make believe but I wasn't looking for an indepth novel to read. If I remember this was either a free book or very inexpensive so how can one complain - I'm not - read it you'll enjoy!
How many stories do we need of poor girl meets rich boy and they fall into bed and love? I think there could have been so many more elements to this story. For me it just fell flat.
I picked this one up off the top 100 free list and after reading it, I must say I'm glad I did. This is actually quite an enjoyable read for a novella. It has well developed and likable characters, a plausible plot and is, for the most part, well written. There are some editing issues which definitely keep this one out of the five star category but if they were corrected... In any event the two protagonists, Bryn and Aiden, meet accidentally when Bryn gets nailed by a car and Aiden is the EMT who responds to the emergency call. After Aiden gets over his initial "wow, I'm going to do whatever it takes to bang this chick" phase, the book progresses into a full-fledged romance which is nicely depicted--although for those of you who are offended by actual descriptions of sex, you will find perhaps what you consider objectionable verbiage and language here. This is not a book with gratuitous sex, but sex is definitely an integral part of the plot and story line. I really enjoyed this one and if you like books of this genera, you most likely will like it too.
Before her death, Bryn's Great-Aunt Sonya wills her house to Bryn and extracts from her a vow--"You must live here and raise a family, as I did." My immediate thought was, well then where the heck is this family? Why is Bryn your closest kin and why does she have nobody in the world to turn to after she's hit by a car than her good-for-nothing mother?

The author's premise and my response were really par for the course in this book. The story was so underdeveloped and the plot so thin that the story just wasn't interesting. I'll grant the author that she did try to create a conflict around which to base the story, but it was so contrived and poorly developed as to be quite boring. Aiden, the EMT who treats her after she's hit by a car, is so perfect (except for the almost stalkerish way he goes about getting her personal info and then making arrangements to be her roommate) and Bryn is so nearly perfect that I'm sure they'll have a pretty close to perfect life; I just don't think it'll be much more interesting than this book.
For a quick read I enjoyed this book and will read more by this author. Story flowed nice and liked the writing style
Bryn needs money for her mortgage and to prop up her martial arts studio. To make matters worse she is injured by a car. Can Aiden Romero, EMT, become her roommate and rescue her?
